What is the funniest thing you would do to prove you’re South African?
A: Anytime I dance people will point and laugh (at me, not with me) – so break out the Klippies and 30 Goue Sokkie Treffers compilation and I’ll attempt to langarm or sokkie dance. That should check all the boxes. Although it may be more disturbing than funny.
What is your honest opinion of 80s music?
A: The 80’s was a great time for music in general, some true legends and icons were produced during that time. Personally there’s a ton of 80’s rock / metal I absolutely love and still listen to. However, the hair and fashion choices of the era are of course another matter and should stay right where they belong… in the 80’s!
If your mother was going to change one thing about you, what would it be?
A: Well there’s 2 actually and I’m not sure which one would take priority – but she strongly dislikes the music I listen to, which is a good thing because the day my mother starts headbanging that’s the day it isn’t cool anymore. She’s also been on my case about quitting cigarettes forever, so I reckon that’s right up there too.
Brothers and sisters?
A: I have a half-sister in Cape Town if that counts?
What’s the most dangerous thing you’ve done?
A: I never quite took to conventional sports and had more of a leaning towards anything with wheels that I could potentially hurt myself on – skateboarding, BMXing etc. so I was constantly jumping off of things I probably shouldn’t have, an instance that comes to mind is jumping our bikes off of my mates roof into the pool – my ankle still makes weird noises in winter as a result of this.
KFC or Nando’s?
A: Can’t we go for a steak rather? Okay fine, if we must then I’d go with Nando’s.
Is a zebra black with white stripes or white with black stripes?
A: I don’t know where you’re going with this and it feels like a trap- White with black stripes.
Do you secretly want to be doing something else?
A: Yes, when I grow up I want to be a Rock Star.
Who is the funniest person at E-merge?
A: There are a few, but if I’m to single anyone out – Jason tends to have moments of comedic genius that appeal to my weird sense of humour.
What is your favourite movie and why?
A: Rockstar, the one with Mark Wahlberg & Jennifer Aniston – I know it’s old, but it’s a great story with an amazing soundtrack.
How would you spend the perfect date night?
A: Call me old fashioned and perhaps a little boring in this regard, but dinner and a show / movie always goes down well with me. Doesn’t really matter what where you go or what do, it’s more about who you’re doing it with.
At the movies, which armrest is yours?
A: I’m not an armrest hog, so my grape slushie typically lands in the designated armrest – usually the one on the left I think.
