Garth Zoutendyk - Specialist Java / J2EE Recruiter
Garth has been with e-merge for a period of 10 years (he’s extremely excited as he’ll receive his duly awaited long service award later this year). He’s worked and specialized in the Java J2ee technology environment since starting e-Merge and has created a solid market presence in this technology environment. In addition, Garth also works on Capital Market related assignments where his solid client base which includes a number of Investment Banks and niche Consulting and Software Development companies, entrusts him to staff them with only the best. Garth’s passion outside of working hours is Architecture where he’s involved in the design, architecture and construction of upper market residential properties. In between designing houses and securing work for Java skilled candidates Garth takes time out to ride his motorcycles which include the Super Bike regional racing series as well as Super Motard Racing events at a Regional and National level. Finally, Garth was introduced to TV late in life – rather late than never ‘they’ say - and for this reason he has a massive responsibility in terms of managing a relatively large family (7 people) which consists of 3 girls and 2 boys. In the event you struggle to get hold of Garth he may well be bathing babies, changing nappies, cooking dinner, performing homework tasks, designing houses or simply riding his bikes. Kyra Kruse - General and Training Manager
Kyra is one of our ‘Make It Happen’ people. She is the pushing force behind most people in e-Merge. Kyra has a total of 7 years experience in the recruitment industry of which 2 years is at management and training level and will be adding onto that in working with e-Merge. Her training and motivational skills come in high demand at e-Merge. Kyra has numerous special achievements including being a Golden Key Member obtained when she studied a BA degree in Corporate Communications. She has also completed the ‘Train the Trainer’ course and has obtained the Disney Keys of Excellence award. She is a very conscious person of her environment and is a huge lover of animals especially dogs, tigers, sharks, penguins and dolphins. In turn for her love of animals, she is much loved by our own resident cat, Ash, who just loves to pop in for a quick hello. She is a social butterfly and loves spending time with friends and family, loves to cook and entertain but above all she loves her brand new BMW. When we asked her why she loved working for e-Merge, she said: “The People: all down to earth and real; they work-hard play-hard mentality, working together as a team to achieve set out goals. “ She believes the market perceives us as specialists, however, she thinks that some people see us as “cowboys” as we are not conventional but we do deliver.

Jason Pretorius - Specialist C# and .Net Recruiter
Jason’s been a Technical Recruiter for almost a decade and has been with e-Merge since 2005. His career started off in the UK many years ago. He then didn’t know the difference between JavaScript and Java and has since developed in leaps and bounds. He can now confidently say he knows and understands what a C# Developer does and where to look for this illusive skill. In addition he has expert knowledge of Windows Forms and Web Development. He has been with e-Merge since early 2005 when he started up a desk focusing on C# Developers. He strongly feels that to work in a company that encourages ethics, honesty and service in an industry rife with the opposite, is a large reason for his success. He added: “being able to believe in what you do and trying to achieve and love every minute of it is rare in this world. Yes I am a Recruiter, but one that’s trying to get our profession out of the mud pool that ranks us alongside Lawyers and Politicians ideally back to where we should be… as service focused, professional Advisors to the technical community. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not an Angelic ray of sunshine (just ask the team that supports me) but then nobody is perfect and we all need to better ourselves constantly.” Outside of work he is a passionate Rugby fan (yes he is from Durbs and does support the Sharks!!), Loose-head was where he did his best work when he played. Having recently retired from the game he took up diving but is also a firm fan of RPG’s. Jason concluded by saying, “I believe in e-Merge and our ideals simply because we place emphasis on matching people and companies; we are not in this market for the short term but rather see ourselves impacting other people’s lives in a positive and uplifting manner for many years to come. Liezl Slabber - Specialist Quality Assurance Recruiter
Given the fact that Liezl has been in recruitment for over 14 years, she knows things about recruitment that most of us have still to learn. She has recruitment experience in numerous industries including banking, medical and the motor industry. Liezl specializes in the Quality Assurance and Business Analyses space within e-Merge. She is an uncomplicated person who will easily lead you to your dream job, hence, our nickname for her, “Just Liezl”. When we asked Liezl what she loved about us, she mentioned: “E-merge is a dynamic fast paced environment, IT grows on you. I have a passion for recruitment and have found IT very interesting and challenging. The e-Merge Team is great.” Outside of e-Merge’s bright orange walls, Liezl considers her 18 year happy marriage as a special achievement in addition to her BCom Degree in Industrial Psychology. Liezl is a very creative person and spends her personal time painting breathtaking paintings with oils and acrylics. She has even exhibited her work before. Liezl believes e-Merge is well known and respected for sending good quality candidates to clients. She said we care for our candidates and try to find the best positions for them, at the same time offering our clients an excellent service and excellent candidates.

Denyce Tyson - Typist
Denyce is our ‘manufacturing plant’ within e-Merge. She produces all our CV’s in its lovely format. She has many years of experience in numerous industries but has always performed the particular task of typing which has made her an expert typist. Denyce has won numerous incentives at e-Merge due to her fast typing talent. When asked why she loved working for e-Merge, she said: “I am left to do my own thing with no real pressure. I always do my best. I only have 100% to give and that is what I do.” After hours, Denyce loves to socialize and go dancing. Previously, she bred Collie dogs of which many of them she trained for shows. She has won many awards at these shows. Although Denyce has not worked in the recruitment industry before, it didn’t take her long to realize that e-Merge is one of the top recruitment agencies in the IT industry.

Janice Kennedy - Recruitment Support Executive
Being with us for the past 10 years, Janice knows every inch of the business and every intricate detail of our processes as she has been here since these were implemented. Being the heart and lungs of e-Merge, she quite often asks herself if there is indeed life outside of e-Merge. Seeing that there is, after hours Janice loves making jewellery and watching her sons play sport. Janice’s most special achievement is assisting Garth in growing e-Merge to the successful reputable company it is today. When we asked her why she loves working for e-Merge, she said: “I love being part of a great team and I get a huge sense of satisfaction finding great opportunities for candidates, and great candidates for clients.” Janice believes e-Merge is perceived as a recruitment company that has integrity, gives excellent service, provides high caliber candidates to clients, and has great clients to offer candidates.

Jessica De Abreu - Recruitment Administrator
Jessica is a brand new employee at e-Merge. She is a funky, friendly upbeat individual who is currently working in one of the most pressured positions in Garth’s team. Jessica joined our team of professionals as she feels it’s a very vibey, high paced but pressured environment. She thinks it’s a great place to work and the people here are very helpful. When we asked her what she thinks other people think of us, she said: “ a well established company who really has the candidate’s best interests at heart.” Her passion is to always strive to do her best and learn a great deal, she believes knowledge is power and you can never be too old to learn. She likes to feed off other people’s creativeness to better herself.

Nicole Burn - Senior Recruitment Administrator
Nicole has been in the Recruitment industry for 10 years, she has previous experience working for a recruitment company specializing in financial placements. She is very organized so being the admin person for Jason is perfect for her as he speaks “technical” and she doesn’t. Although there is the constant competition between the Java and Microsoft Teams, when asked what she loved about e-Merge she said,”What I love about e-Merge is that everyone I work with is very helpful and great to learn from. I am constantly learning new things at work and management is very willing to advance people who show that they want to advance. You are never “stuck” in one set of duties for very long. I enjoy being on the Microsoft team because we all know it is more superior to Java (the Java team will disagree of course).” Nicole is a very active person with loads of friends, when she’s not running around fetching and carrying kids she enjoys road cycling – she even completed the 94.7 Cycle Race a few times and she enjoys going to gym.

Sharon Rasekwela - Admin Trainer & Recruitment Assistant
Sharon has been with e-Merge for the past 3 years and works closely with Garth in the Java team. Recently she was promoted to Admin Trainer as there is no admin process she is not familiar with. She is doing really well in her new role and enjoys the challanges that training brings with it. Sharon is our internal “Paris Hilton”, absolutely loving life in social circles and the more events this girl goes to, the happier she is. Other than that, she loves to go to the movies and shopping. Sharon said she loves our awesome environment and the diverse people that she works with. Sharon believes that e-Merge is the best in IT specialist recruitment.

Terry Bodart - Recruitment Administrator
Terry is our “proactive queen”-always on the search for a better way to do things. Terry has an abundance of admin experience and has learnt all of e-Merge’s processes very quickly. This lady has traveled the world and has lived in exciting places such as Malaysia and France. Terry has 2 beautiful children that bring a smile to her face and twinkle to her eye when she talks about them. Terry is also a big animal lover and is heart broken that she has been separated from her dogs but hopes to have a happy reunion soon. When asked how she would sell e-Merge to Sir Richard Branson she said “e-Merge is the best because we pride ourselves on service excellence. Our informed consultants take the time to get to know our clients and our candidates and we aim at getting it right – matching suitably qualified candidates to opportunities offered. The high volume of return business from satisfied clients is the quickest way to measure our success!”

Grace Magubane - Receptionist
Grace has been with e-Merge a little bit longer than 5 years. She is our first point of contact with candidates and clients alike. She is the type of person that likes to find opportunities for learning continuously; so much so that she won our e-Merge ‘Metamorphosis’ award last year for growing herself in her job. After hours Grace likes to write songs, she loves her children and is currently in the process of completing her ABET. Grace said she loves working for e-Merge because we help people achieve their goals.
